Yes, you can choose to roll over your account from one state’s program to another.

Can out-of-state contributors receive tax deductions?
Some states offer parity, meaning that the contributor’s state of residence may offer a state deduction for putting money into another state’s plan. It would be dependent upon each state’s individual program.

Can someone else access my account?
To keep the account safe, don’t share your password or let someone else have access to your account, unless they are the Authorized Legal Representative. If you want to add, change, or remove the Authorized Legal Representative for the account, we have forms to help you with the process.

Can there be more than one Authorized Legal Representative (ALR)?
There can only be one Authorized Legal Representative per account, but you can transfer an ALR by filling out this form or calling us at 1-855-5MD-ABLE (1-855-563-2253) from 9am-8pm ET.

Can wages or other income be deposited into an ABLE account?
Yes, any income can be deposited however total annual deposits may not exceed $17,000 in calendar year 2023.
